Blackjack, also known as Twenty-one, is the most widely played casino game in the world. The standard game is played with one or more decks containing 52 cards without jokers. Several decks can be mixed together also in order to make the card counting difficult. The main aim of the player in this game is to achieve a hand whose points total near to 21 than the banker's hand, but not exceeding 21.
The Blackjack game is played on a specially designed table with permanent dealer employed by the casino, and up to eight players against the blackjack dealer. Each blackjack player places a bet. There is always a minimum bet and a maximum bet for the table. The maximum bet is normally ten to twenty times the minimum bet. Each blackjack player decides how much to bet on a hand before the deal. Player doesn’t play against each other. Their only competitor is the blackjack dealer of the game. The player has to score a higher point total than the dealer without going over 21. The score is computed by adding the values of individual cards.
To start with the game, the blackjack dealer and the blackjack players get two cards each. Both the blackjack cards of the players are the face up cards. The dealer has one face up card and one face down card.
Blackjack Terms:
