A Brief Guide to Blackjack

Blackjack, also known as Twenty-One, is arguably the most popular casino game in the world. Firstly, it is relatively easy to pick up and understand and secondly, with a little thought, it is easy to tilt the odds in your favour. Think of the card counting scandals in the early nineties where the players made millions across the world.

Online Blackjack can be played alone, or if you're feeling sociable, you can join a group of players for the classics;

•    Single Player
•    Multi Player
•    Multi Hand
•    Multi Split
•    Private Room

Rules
Each player and the dealer are dealt two cards to begin. The goal is to collect cards that add as close to 21 as possible without going over, known as 'bust' and beating the dealer’s total to boot.

Cards are worth their face value with King, Queen and Jack worth ten each. Ace can be a high or low card; to the sum 1 or 11 at the player’s discretion.

If player and dealer have the same total, the deal is a 'push' and bet money is returned. You are only ever playing against the dealer, other players cards are irrespective, although worth keeping an eye on.

Hit
The player receives another card. You get as many as you like, but anything over twenty-one is bust and you lose.

Stand
You receive no more cards.

Split
If you get two cards of the same value, you can split and play both hands separately

Double down
In the first round you will be dealt two cards. When it's your turn again, you will be given the opportunity to double your bet, but you will only receive one more card.

Insurance
If the Dealers' card is an Ace, you will be given the opportunity to buy 'insurance' on the Dealer having Blackjack. This will cost half your wager but payoff is usually 2-1.

Blackjack
If you have an Ace and a Ten or any Court Card, you have Blackjack and usual payout is 3-2.
